“Business Development Manager – Defence ”
The Organization & the Role
For one of our clients, a high-tech, global engineering, and manufacturing solution supplier, on an ambitious growth path to double its business in the coming years, we are currently searching for the Business Development Manager for their Defense sector. S/he will generate new leads and projects for the Defence segment mainly within Germany. Strategically analyzing and evaluating market insights including technological trends and competitor analysis, you will capture growth opportunities by engaging with warm and cold acquisition while leading and driving cross-functional teams (Account Managers, Program Management Team, and New Technology Team).
Location is flexible in Germany.
The Ideal Candidate
Background and Experience
- Academic degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical engineering, or business administration with technical background.
- 10 years+ experience within an international business development and/or commercial function in the international Defense market (OEMs and Tier1s).
- 2+ years’ experience leading cross functional project teams delivering on business opportunities within an international organization.
- Extensive technical capabilities and affinity with the complexity of EMS, ideally electronic/mechatronic technology background.
- Excellent insights and relevant network in the Defense sector including trends and industry forces, customer end markets, procedures, and tendencies.
- Proven success in evaluating continuous research and assessment of the market segment and its players to understand the current trends as well as the development of trends over time and then transforming the findings into powerful strategic plans and actions.
- Fluency in English and German is a must.

- Goal and result oriented, takes responsibility, makes clear and informed decisions, able to set priorities and to represent interest of the customer within the group.
- Assertive, prepared to take responsibility, empowers, develops and navigates people and sets explicit expectations for internal and external stakeholders.
